# commonwise

`commonwise` is a normal Python package for the `common` part of the WISE-technology. That is, it is not a conda package.

It is initially created to support [MetisWISE](https://github.com/AstarVienna/MetisWISE/), since all other METIS packages are normal Python packages too.

Essentially it is a minimal Python package with `common` as a submodule.

The pip package is uploaded to https://pip.entropynaut.com/packages/commonwise/ which uses the same credentials as our conda channel (ask Hugo Buddelmeijer or Gijs Verdoes Kleijn).

## Installation
1. Ask the login credentials from Hugo Buddelmeijer or Gijs Verdoes Kleijn.
   ```
   export OMEGACEN_CONDA_CREDENTIALS=login:password
   ```
2. Install the package:
   ```
   pip install \
     --extra-index-url \
     https://${OMEGACEN_CONDA_CREDENTIALS}@pip.entropynaut.com/packages/ \
     commonwise
   ```

## Building the package

1. Set the version in `pyproject.toml` to the desired version.

2. Build
   ```
   python3 -m build
   ```

3. Upload `dist/commonwise-*.tar.gz` to https://pip.entropynaut.com/packages/commonwise/

## Setting up the pip server

The server at https://pip.entropynaut.com/packages/ is just a simple directory with two extra files:

1. `.htaccess`:
   ```
   AuthName "Dialog prompt"
   AuthType Basic
   AuthUserFile .htpasswd
   Require valid-user
   Options +Indexes
   ```

2. `.htpasswd`:
   ```
   htpasswd -c .htpasswd <username>
   ```
